Nicolai Gayle Nygaard is senior lead wind energy analyst at Ørsted. He works on all aspects of wind resource assessment, energy yield calculations and performance analysis of operating wind farms. He takes a special interest in modelling wake effects within a wind farm and the wakes between neighbouring wind farms as well as wind farm blockage.
His research includes uncertainty
quantification and wind energy applications of remote
sensing such as nacelle lidars, floating lidars and dual-
Doppler radars. He holds a Ph.D in Chemical Physics from University of Maryland, College Park.
